I went to the fields of the world with seeds in my hand
I found a soul made of rock and of stone
I threw my love upon her heart
Flowers grew quickly
But soon withered alone
The soil had no depth for roots to hone
Till, Till, until the ground is…
I found another soul tangled in grief
I threw my love upon her heart
Choked and constricted by thorns
My love suffocated, unable to breathe
Overcome with her ivy and troublesome weeds
Till, Till, until the ground is…
I found a soul running from her past
I threw my love upon her heart
Predators devoured love in an instant
Those time travelers of shame they are so fast
Circling and overshadowing the solar cast
Till, Till, until the ground is…
I found a soul thirsting from famine and drought
I threw my love upon her heart
When the sun rose, my love was scorched
Her wounds lay open and blistered with doubt
Refusing rain and distrusting shade she shut me out
Till, Till, until the ground is…
Soon I found a healthy soul rich in fertility
I threw my love upon her heart
Fruit blossomed and ripened under the palm of my hand
Producing orchards cultivated by loves virility
All my remaining seeds planted HERE for seasons eternity
Till, Till, until the ground is…
Until the ground is tender and soft
For a heart to open, it must first be broken
